My 4th graders have started their My State Notebook project. They will be doing mini research writing on the county they are from or one they find interesting. I decided to do this Animoto on Connecticut's 8 counties as scenic way to introduce and teach how Connecticut is divided and the uniqueness of each county. The maps included in this Animoto will also help them to understand the region each county fits in when the topic is discussed in future lessons. Video mini-lesson complies with CCSS Research to Build and Present Knowledge 7, conducting short research projects that build knowledge through investigation of different aspects of a topic
.
I really enjoyed watching your animoto! The maps and photos will really help students understand where the different counties are located and what they might find in each one. I also like how you included text to summarize each county. Your students will learn a lot from this!
ReplyDeleteI loved your Animoto as well. I also teach fourth grade and every year I am amazed at how little they know about their town, state, and country. This would be a great introduction to our social studies curriculum. I am currently working on an Animoto to introduce our unit on the Southeast.
ReplyDeleteYour Animoto was very well done. Our fourth graders will also be learning about Connecticut, so I would love to use it. The pictures are really beautiful.
