This is my literacy project. My students made a digital story to share their experience with others who would like to raise a pet in school or at home. It was fun and they reallly enjoyed it. I found that I had to work with a few students at a time when working with iMovie. They want to make more movies, so this project was a success and goals were met.  The educational purposes were oral communication and effective information sharing.

  1. Hello Stacy, Your students did a wonderful job. They not only gave valuable information, but they have a professional voice. They should make more informational videos. In fact, you should create a class blog in which you embed the videos they create. I am serious. Combining a blog site with student-created videos would really excite your students. Plus, they already have strong speaking skills. They will be fantastic at making videos such as this one. Plus, making the videos will give them a chance to reinforce what they are learning.

Remember to put titles on blogs. In that way, someone wanting to link to a specific post can click on the title, which yields a URL to use to make a hyperlink.

Okay, now getting going making more videos with students and blogging. Thank you for sharing this great contribution.

Let your students know they have done a wonderful job as scientists and videomakers.

Another idea--start a YouTube account for storing your students' videos. This account can be separate from your own account.
